\nAs women we naturally desire to be desired. There is something inside of us that loves to be loved and lavished on. In the courting stages of a relationship the women desires to be pursued by her man.\u00a0 In a marriage when two hearts are joined as one, the women desires intimacy with her husband, she wants to be appreciated, to feel secure and protected and to be cherished.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
God\u2019s desire is to lavish on His people. He is an intimate and a personal God and He desires to have an intimate relationship with us. Sadly, there are many women who either have never experienced the true heart of the Father or those that have a false impression about Father God, perhaps based on their past experiences with men, either from their marriage or their childhood. This harsh concept of God is damaging to their souls.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
So what does the true heart of the Father look like? \u00a0 Jesus told Thomas that anyone who has seen Him has seen the Father (John 14:5-9). \u00a0 In other words, it is in the Fathers heart to raise the dead, heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, feed the masses, provide finance, befriend sinners, extend forgiveness, teach the Word and do various other miracles.<\/p>\n
God the Father does not love you any less than Jesus loves you. In fact, He loves you just as He love Jesus (John 17:23). It is a powerful truth that will propel you into a greater intimacy with God.<\/p>\n
Without intimacy with God, you cannot fulfil His perfect Plan for your life, no matter what you are called to do. Intimacy with God strengthens your spirit, it refreshes your weary soul, it protects you from temptation and it builds trust. \u00a0 Intimacy with God anchors your emotions. It is fundamental and vital for us as women to be intimate with God the Father.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
God wants to develop an intimate relationship with you that mirrors the intimate relationship He had with Jesus while He walked the earth. Jesus did only what He saw His Father do. Undeniably, Jesus and the Father were in such a close relationship that Jesus would not take a single step without Him.\u00a0 This is a sign of the intimacy Jesus had with His Father.<\/p>\n
When we received Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we are not only saved from the kingdom of darkness but we are also saved into close fellowship with God. Jesus prayed \u2018this is eternal life, that they many know<\/i> You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent\u2019 (John 17:3)<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It is so important that you know God, not just know Him as a head knowledge, or know Him by other people\u2019s understanding of God, but that you know Him personally, that you understand God\u2019s heart and His love for you, knowing in your heart that God loves you for who you are and not for what you do.<\/p>\n
God is eagerly waiting for you.\u00a0 He wants to lavish on you and be intimate with you. \u00a0 He wants you to experience His true love.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I encourage you to make a quality decision to seek Him, be like Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus, expecting, desiring, waiting, and receiving. Set out to discover who He really is, what His personality is like and His ways of leading and guiding. David prayed, \u2018Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation, on You I will wait.\u2019 (Psalm 25:4-5). Let this scripture be the cry of your heart.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I am reminded of the scripture in Matthew 6:33, \u2018First seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you\u2019.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The \u2018seeking\u2019 takes place when we are intimately in relationship with the Father.\u00a0 When we desire intimacy with the Father and we truly seek Him and His heart, \u2018all these things\u2019 are added unto us. As a women, what are the \u2018things\u2019 you are trusting God for?, what are your hearts desires?, your needs?, your requests?.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
When you connect with God\u2019s heart with pure motives, He will grant you everything your heart desires (Psalm 37:4), because then your hearts desires will be in line with His, and it will be greater than you could have ever asked for yourself.<\/p>\n
