Relationships. This is not the light and fuzzy-feeling side of this topic though. I think it\u2019s an important topic to discuss for anyone looking for someone, in a relationship, or maybe even for a married woman.<\/p>\n
So firstly I just want to say, relationships are good and are meant to be enjoyed. Building a life with someone is good. You know in the beginning God said \u201cit is not good for man to be alone\u201d (Genesis 2:18) so right from the beginning we see that God designed us to be in fellowship with people. Now that doesn\u2019t mean that our relationship with God takes a backseat to the person we want to build a life with and that sometimes happen because we get so caught up in our partner. That’s one of the reasons it’s good to have a partner that shares you faith, so that you are both focused on God and when one of you stray away from that, the other is there to pull you back.<\/p>\n
God is a jealous God and don\u2019t think for one second He is going to let some man take His place in our lives. But at the same time, He totally gets that we need other people and that closeness and intimacy with other human beings. So that is why He made man and woman to be together and want to be with one another.<\/p>\n

With all of that said, I also need to clarify the reality and seriousness of relationships. A lot of things happen in the spiritual realm when we do things in the natural and well we have to be really careful what we do and what we allow ourselves to think and feel.<\/p>\n
Something I have settled in myself and worked through with God is that I will wait. I will wait however long it takes for the right person. The person God says would be someone I could really build with. Now I know that is a super spiritual type of thing, and for a long time it was actually a fear driven decision. I used to be scared of what could happen because of everything I went through and saw in my own parents relationship.<\/p>\n

Waiting is difficult and I by no means have it down perfectly. I actually can\u2019t even imagine how many times God has sat with His face in His hands because of all the times I\u2019ve tried to do this on my own instead of waiting on Him. But I thank God for His grace and guidance because He always pulls me out or reveals that its not right before things go to far. He always protects us, and I think sometimes we question why its taking so long, but we sure rest assured that He knows what He is doing.<\/p>\n

Something you should really ask yourself when looking at a human you might be interested in is if you could spend the rest of your life with him, and if you could really actually build a life with him. Now ladies, you need to be real here. You can lie to yourself for a while if you want, but eventually its going to come out that you can\u2019t actually do this, so even though its hard you have to be real with yourself and ask if you could really actually take on your life and calling with him. For as long as I can remember, God always posed that question to me whenever I noticed someone and its actually sort of opened my eyes to how we should be looking at this whole dating concept.<\/p>\n

If you can\u2019t see a future with this person then you shouldn\u2019t be in a relationship with them. It\u2019s as simple as that, but then we complain to God and be like \u201cBut he is soooo nice. God whyyyyy? Why can\u2019t he be the one?\u201d. Well I don\u2019t know about you, but I have those moments with God.<\/p>\n
Something we should also know is that there is no such thing as \u201cthe one\u201d. I believe that there are multiple people on this earth who you would be compatible with, because well if there is just one and that one gets hit by a bus then what? My one is roadkill so I must be alone for the rest of my life? I don\u2019t think so somehow. God has made multiple people who would be compatible with me, and if something happens to one, then He will bring the other one. He provides for us.<\/p>\n

So when you get into something with someone, you should go into the relationship with the attitude of mend it, don’t end it. Just like when you go into a marriage with the attitude of ‘divorce is not an option’, you should go into a relationship with the idea of ‘breaking up’ is not an option. If you get into something, you should be willing to see it through.<\/p>\n
When you commit to someone, I feel you should really commit. There is a reason we say \u201cfor better or worse\u201d in vows. Now don\u2019t get me wrong, if you are in a toxic relationship, then yes get the heck out of there. But if you just want to leave because he doesn\u2019t buy you flowers, then I don\u2019t know. Maybe then you should be looking at if you are ready for a relationship. We should actually be making ourselves ready for the human we will one day spend the rest of our lives with. Our prayer should be that God would make us into the woman we need to be that we may be who our partner needs. Instead of looking around the whole time for the right guy, maybe we should be a little more focused on making ourselves into the woman that God created us to be.<\/p>\n
You will be amazed at the things that can happen when we submit to God and His timing.<\/p>\n
