So often when we think of Destiny we put a point in the future when we are just right and everything is in place and say we will get to our destiny. Destiny is not a place or state to be achieved that is destination, a finite point or place we want to reach.
Destiny is so much more and embraces every part of our lives from now until that destination, which of course is heaven and being fully in the presence of our Lord.
God has placed Destiny in every person’s heart and life and He is ready to walk with us every step of the way as we figure it out. Destiny is one of the reasons God made us in the first place. Ps 139: 16(AMP), “ Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days (of my life) were written before they ever took shape, when as yet there were none of them” God has always had purpose and destiny for us which He placed inside of us while He was forming us in the womb.
Destiny is what you were born to do and be involved with. Destiny motivates us and gives us a sense of fulfilment as we do it. Destiny is all about finding the passions and desires deep within our hearts and finding a way to pursue them. It is really all about what we give back to the world and the people that God loves passionately. Christ’s destiny was the salvation of mankind and the defeat of the devil but His whole life was passionately filled with different actions, thoughts, prayers, situations, places and people that were all vibrantly part of His Destiny. His destination on earth was the cross but His Destiny was His entire life.
Destiny is a path we travel, a race we run and a purpose we fulfil every day. How do you find your Destiny, is a question many ask? Firstly pray and surrender every thought, plan and vision you have had to the Lord and give the Holy Spirit permission to lead you into His truth for your life. Next look into your heart and begin to search for your passions. Sometimes there are so many things we are interested in but that does not make them our Destiny. Destiny is that which God has placed in your heart as a deep desire.
Write them all down and mark the ones that make your eyes sparkle and your heart leap. Now bring these again to the Lord and ask Him to lead and guide you to where you should go and to whom, so they can help you discern and confirm what you have discovered. Once you have that you are ready for the next phase in walking in your Destiny. See you next week for more.
